Terms of service
Effective September 20, 2026
These terms cover your use of Kitchen Kiosk, the kitchen wall display and its companion phone app (together, "the service"), operated by an individual developer ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.
The service
The service shows a household its calendar, chores, meals, and notes on a wall display, and lets the household manage them from a phone. It is a personal project built for one family's use and shared with the people that family invites. It may change, pause, or stop at any time.
Accounts
You sign in with an email address and a password. Give us a real address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Everyone in a household can see and change what is on that household's board.
Your content
What you put in the service (chores, notes, names, and the like) stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it and show it to you and your household, and to run the service. Your Google Calendar events remain yours and Google's; we hold a read-only copy for display and nothing more, as the privacy policy describes.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- use the service to break the law or someone else's rights;
- try to reach data that is not yours, or probe, overload, or disrupt the service;
- put in other people's information that you have no business sharing;
- connect a Google account that is not yours.
Third-party services
The service works with other services: Google Calendar, the Hearth recipe app, the U.S. National Weather Service, and the hosting providers named in the privacy policy. Their own terms and privacy policies govern your use of them, and they can change or fail without our involvement. You can withdraw our access to your Google account at any time from the companion app or from your Google Account settings. Weather and calendar information is shown as received and should not be relied on for anything where a wrong or stale answer could hurt someone.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your data, as the privacy policy explains. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put the service at risk, or if we shut the service down. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, warranty, liability, governing law) do.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free. Events, chores, and notes can fail to appear, appear late, or be wrong.
Limits of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed appointments, or lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above changes when we do, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
